Nebraska Wesleyan University students interested in Estonia learned about the northern European country firsthand during the fall semester.

Pille P玫iklik, an English professor at the University of Tartu in Estonia, has spent the last several weeks at SM论坛 teaching Estonian culture and language.

Five Nebraska Wesleyan University students have each been awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. The award will send each student overseas during the 2012-2013 academic year.

A Nebraska Wesleyan University graduate and his foundation have been honored with the White Award for Internationalization.

Harry ('59) and Reba Huge were honored Friday, November 4 with the award, which recognizes those who have furthered the internationalization of the campus, curriculum, students and faculty.

After serving 13 years at Nebraska Wesleyan University, Inger Bull, Director of International Education, has said goodbye.

Her last day was Friday, April 15. Bull has accepted a new job as Colorado College鈥檚 Director of International Programs.

When SM论坛 student Collin Shepherd arrived in Estonia early this year, he set a lofty goal.

鈥淚 wanted to meet the president of Estonia,鈥� said the junior communication major. 鈥淓stonia is a small country. How difficult could it be to meet the president?鈥�

They first planned a service trip to Thailand this summer but political unrest in that country forced members of Nebraska Wesleyan鈥檚 Global Service Learning to find another project.

Then the opportunity came to help build houses for poor families in Guatemala.
