This year鈥檚 White Award for Internationalization went to a particularly polyglot professor. Prof. Jo Ann Fuess chairs Nebraska Wesleyan University's Department of Modern Languages and teaches German courses at all levels, including German literature, culture, media and film.

She also teaches intermediate Spanish and coordinates Nebraska Wesleyan鈥檚 International Film Series.

When a Nebraska Wesleyan student fell sick and was hospitalized during fall finals, the impact on her semester could have been tremendous. But Associate Professor of Health and Human Performance Samantha Wilson, her academic advisor, stepped in to minimize the damage. 鈥淪he helped me communicate with professors.

The Prouty, Nebraska Wesleyan鈥檚 top teaching award, went to Prof. Susan Wortmann in her 15th year at SM论坛, and her 25th in the classroom. Her strengths as a professor shined in students鈥 nomination letters and course evaluations.

Nebraska Wesleyan University鈥檚 Forum Committee presented its Faculty Scholarship Presentation Award this spring to a professor studying international democratic backsliding. 

鈥淚鈥檓 a sociologist of law, and my research explores how the law is used and abused for antidemocratic purposes here and around the world,鈥 said Assistant Professor of Sociology and Criminology Heba Khalil.

Congratulations to Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management Tom Ochsner, recipient of the Bob Minturn Special Recognition Award from NeASFAA (Nebraska Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators). The award honors his 20 years of service and leadership in the financial aid field.

Nebraska Wesleyan University Athletics has appointed Kean Kontor as the new head men's and women's golf coach. 

Kontor joins the Prairie Wolves with a wealth of experience in collegiate coaching and golf operations, most recently serving as the head men's and women's golf coach at Midland University.
