Nebraska Wesleyan University鈥檚 International Relations Organization (IRO) has been instrumental for helping students both international and domestic find their community on campus. 

IRO is a student organization that engages students in the global community on campus with cultural presentations, food and game nights. 

Nebraska Wesleyan University track and field athlete Bella Houge has earned NCAA DIII first-team Academic All-American honors from the College Sports Communicators, the organization announced Tuesday.

Nebraska Wesleyan University President Darrin Good has announced that Ryan Cassell will be the University鈥檚 next vice president of enrollment management and marketing. He brings 15 years of NCAA Division III enrollment and admission expertise to SM论坛. 

The Sandhills Global Youth Complex selected Joe Fagler (鈥�01), a former Nebraska Wesleyan University baseball player, as its inaugural director. The complex will be the future home of SM论坛鈥檚 baseball and softball programs. 

Nebraska Wesleyan University graduate Matt Wishard ('24) is charting an ambitious path from the fields of biology to the political arena.

Wishard, of Elkhorn, Neb., graduated with a degree in biology in May and aspires to create change by merging his scientific background with his passion for agriculture and politics.

McKenna Weber (鈥�25) of Lincoln, Neb., has received a study abroad grant from The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation鈥檚 oldest and most selective collegiate honor society across all academic disciplines.

Kaitlyn Georgiana (鈥�24) wants to turn personal tragedy into breakthrough stem cell research for expectant mothers and babies. 

Assistant Professor of Spanish Manuela Borzone has received Nebraska Wesleyan University鈥檚 Faculty Scholar Award for the 2023-2024 academic year. 

鈥淣ow in her second year at SM论坛, Manuela鈥檚 scholarship has been formidable and has received many accolades,鈥� her nominator says.

Nebraska Wesleyan University has announced its 2024 spring semester academic honors list for students enrolled in traditional and adult undergraduate programs. 

Traditional undergraduates:

Simon Highsmith (鈥�25), a sociology major from Centennial, Co., is the winner of this year鈥檚 Dean B. Stewart Award for Courage.

Highsmith has been chosen as the 2024 recipient for their courage in overcoming adversity and determination to finish their degree despite a debilitating medical condition.
