ITS Policy and Standards Implementation Timeline

This is a drafted timeline that is subject to change. ITS will work with their communities to develop a timeline for changes and implementations.
August 1st, 2025 (In Progress)
- Begin inventory of systems/services.
- Continue enrolling university-owned endpoints in management.
- Implementation of ITS-17: Digital Course Retention Standard.
- Continued work to ensure all Canvas course content meets ADA and WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards.
October 1st, 2025
- MFA required for all faculty, staff, and students.
- Security awareness training requirements for current employees.
October 13th, 2025
- Disable auto-run for external devices on Windows
October 20th, 2025
Implement LAPS for MacOS devices
October 22nd, 2025
- All courses prior to Fall 2024 will be marked as Completed and archived to prepare for upcoming accessibility requirements. (ITS-17)
- Colleague UI connected to Okta SSO and MFA enforced.
November 3rd, 2025
- Lower inbound e-mail spam filter bulk threshold to 4.
December 1st, 2025
- Lower inbound e-mail spam filter bulk threshold to 3.
January 1st, 2026
- Email forwarding no longer permitted.
- University faculty and staff must use university email accounts for university business.
All courses created before Fall 2025 will be marked as Completed and archived. Moving forward, all courses will be marked as Completed and archived at the end of each academic year (July 31st) will be archived. (ITS-17)
