Background

Eric Wyler ('13) is Chair of the Music Department and Director of Music Education at Nebraska Wesleyan University, where he oversees the music education program, teaches voice, and directs the a cappella choir, Gold Standard Singers

Prior to his work in higher education, he served as Director of Vocal Point, the high school men’s ensemble of the Lincoln Boys Choir, a nonprofit community organization. Eric was also Music Director at St. John Lutheran Church in Council Bluffs, IA, and spent six years as a public school music educator - most recently at Lewis Central High School in Council Bluffs, IA.

He remains active as a performer, judge, adjudicator, and clinician for show choir competitions, vocal and choral contests, and honor choirs throughout the region. He has also presented his research on music education at both state and national conferences.

Eric holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Music Education from Nebraska Wesleyan University and a Master’s Degree in Music from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.  Eric and his wife, Lindsy, enjoy spending time with their children, James (10 years), Elijah (8 years), Emilia (5 years), and Jackson (3 years).
