Nebraska Wesleyan has announced a dynamic group of new assistant coaches joining its athletic programs for the 2025-26 season. These talented professionals reflect SM论坛鈥檚 strong commitment to student-athlete development.
Men鈥檚 Basketball: Blake Bonin
Bonin begins his first season as an assistant coach with the men鈥檚 basketball program, following a successful stint at Franklin College where he helped lead the team to a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament title and the program鈥檚 first NCAA Tournament win in 25 years.
During his time at Franklin, Bonin significantly expanded the roster, brought in international talent and served in multiple operational roles. A native of Indiana, he played collegiately at Earlham College, where he was a two-year team captain and a three-time Academic All-HCAC selection.
Women鈥檚 Soccer: Bailey Brennan
Bailey Brennan begins her first season as an assistant coach for the women鈥檚 soccer program after concluding her collegiate playing career at the University of Dubuque in 2024.
Brennan was a standout both on and off the field, earning CSC Academic All-District honors and multiple All-Academic and Honorable Mention All-Conference awards in the American Rivers Conference. Her coaching experience includes serving as the heat coach at Dubuque Senior High School and working with youth club programs.
Swimming & Diving: Dannie Dilsaver
Dilsaver, a Lincoln native and decorated swimmer, joins the program as its first full-time assistant swim coach, bringing a standout background as a competitor, mentor and record-setting coach.
An 11-time Nebraska state champion and former U.S. Olympic Trials qualifier, Dilsaver competed collegiately at Kansas and Cal, serving as a team captain and earning multiple conference honors. Most recently, she coached Marian High School to the 2024 NSAA State Championship.
Volleyball: Nick Erdman
Erdman joins the volleyball program as its first full-time assistant coach. He most recently led a rebuild at Iowa Lakes Community College, producing five All-Region XI players and guiding six NJCAA All-Academic honorees, with several advancing to NCAA Division III or NAIA programs.
Erdman also built a championship-caliber program at Sheboygan Falls High School in Wisconsin and brings extensive club coaching experience, having developed athletes across multiple age groups.
Women鈥檚 Basketball: Sydney Golladay
Golladay joins the women鈥檚 basketball program as an assistant coach, focusing on the development of guards and wings. She also oversees recruiting.
Golladay had an extensive and highly successful career at Creighton University and Fort Hays State, where she was a four-year starter and two-year captain.
Baseball: Mitch Lawson
Lawson enters his first year as assistant baseball coach. He brings NCAA Division II coaching experience, having served as an assistant coach at Southwest Minnesota State, where he helped run and organize practices and was heavily involved in recruiting.
Lawson also served as an assistant coach at Upper Iowa and was a four-year collegiate player at Cornell College.
Men鈥檚 Soccer: Hunter Sowersby
Sowersby is the first full-time assistant coach in the history of the men鈥檚 soccer program. A former standout at Wells College, Sowersby earned Third Team All-Conference honors as a sophomore. He holds program records for most games played and was named to the Wells College Men鈥檚 Soccer All-Decade Team.
Sowersby brings strong collegiate coaching experience, most recently serving as the head women鈥檚 soccer coach at SUNY Polytechnic Institute, where he oversaw player development and game strategy. Prior to that, he was the head men鈥檚 soccer coach at Marywood University.
